Chase bank promoted with this metrocard usage of its debit or credit card at metrocard vending machines. Card has matching leaflet. Chase repeated this campaign twice during 2008, but only one card is known has been released.

In the end of 2008 famous Triboro Bridge connecting 2 boroughs the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens has been renamed after Robert F. Kennedy. There is quote from his speech printed on the card “Dream things that never were and ask, why not?”. Metrocard has also reference to RFK foundation web site rfkcenter.org.

JFK 60th Anniversary

This metrocard as well as performance itself has been sponsored by Capital One Bank. Metrocard could give $10 off regular ticket for Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall. There were 2 different leaflets (one, two) and a flier.

NFL Season Kickoff

To commemorate 2008-2009 NFL season Kickoff MTA and NFL issued this metrocard which in turn could give 15% off on products bought at NFL web site. Kickoff itself was at Columbus Circle on September 4, 2008.

2008 has been marked as the last year when NY Mets will be playing at Shea stadium. To commemorate this event MTA and Mets sponsored set of 2 metrocards with black and white images of Shea stadium itself and one of the game played at the stadium.

British Petroleum Company sponsored this very interesting in many ways metrocard. Card carefully omits to name New York City baseball team so to avoid as I think litigation (like those infamous metrocards which were canceled and destroyed). In 2007 MTA celebrated 75 years of service by A train. To commemorate this event set of 2 metrocards sponsored by Channel NY1 were issued.

On exact day when service started old train was running alone that route and lucky passengers could get the same metrocards sponsored in addition to NY1 Channel by newspaper Daily News. There are very few metrocards with Daily News logo.
